'Sex and the City' - On the Set Memories


When the blogosphere exploded with pictures from the "Sex and the City" movie, fans went into sartorial shock when photos revealed Carrie Bradshaw (aka Sarah Jessica Parker) in a Vivienne Westwood wedding gown and the ladies donned in silhouette-cinching wide belts — all thanks to costume designer Patricia Field. Just more evidence of the trend-setting ways of this stylish quartet.

"The Real Me," season four: Carrie is asked to model a pair of nude-colored bejeweled Dolce & Gabbana underwear at a charity fashion show. As she does her best impression of a model, she falls on the runway, but finishes with no shame. The moral of the story? Wearing bejeweled panties in a runway show can give you confidence.

Raiding the Vogue closet

"A 'Vogue' Idea," season four: Carrie struggles to write her first article for Vogue, but finishes with the help of magazine bigwig Julian (Ron Rifkin). When they decide to reward themselves by raiding the Vogue sample closet, she finds a pair of Manolo Blahnik Mary Janes.
